The AirTAC MTG40X75 is a single acting, pull-type JIS round-body mini cylinder with a 40 mm bore and 75 mm stroke. In this configuration the internal spring holds the rod extended at rest, and compressed air retracts (pulls) the rod on the work stroke, so one air line is all the plumbing you need for a one-way draw, retract, close or tension motion. The output figures are net pull after the spring: about 339.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 550.1 N at 0.7 MPa, with a minimum working pressure of 0.2 MPa and a speed range of 50 to 800 mm/s. Choose the MTG40X75 when your motion is a one-way pull of about 339 N (roughly 34 kgf) at 0.5 MPa over a 75 mm stroke. Within the MTG range, bore 40 is the largest and strongest: bore 20 gives 84.8 N, bore 25 gives 132.6 N and bore 32 gives 224.8 N at 0.5 MPa, so step down if your load is lighter and you want a smaller envelope. Remember the behaviour: the spring extends the rod and air retracts it, and the spring sets a 0.2 MPa minimum working pressure (range 0.2-1.0 MPa = 28-145 psi).
