The PTL802AD-S is a push-lock speed controller in AirTAC's SUS304 stainless build: it throttles air flowing from the 1/4in PT thread port into the Dia 8 tube while letting the return flow pass unthrottled. That trailing A marks meter-out control, the default choice for a solenoid valve driving a double-acting cylinder, because choking the exhaust leaves a back-pressure cushion that keeps the stroke smooth instead of stick-slipping under a changing load.
Instead of a knob, the PTL caps the needle with a push-lock adjuster: press, turn to set, release, and the cap locks its position. Meter-Out or Meter-In?
- check Meter-out (A) is the default. It throttles the air LEAVING the cylinder, so the piston runs against a back-pressure cushion and moves smoothly.
