The assembled SAIF system has a practical operating pressure of 0.15-0.8 MPa, governed by the built-in valve rather than the 1.0 MPa cylinder rating. It provides 982N of push force at 0.5 MPa.
By default, the piston rod retracts when the coil is energised, but this can be reconfigured to extend-when-energised by repositioning the valve. The manifold uses an O8 x O5 PU tube to bridge the 1/4" cylinder port and the 1/8" valve port. This -S model includes a magnet for CMSE reed and DMSE electronic sensors.

SAIF does not hold its load without air — the valve routes air, it is not a lock. For load-holding use a SAIL (lock) or BSAI (clamp-lock).

A self-valved SAIF excels over a separate cylinder and remote valve by eliminating interconnecting tubing, saving panel space, and enabling decentralized control across large machines from a single DC24V signal. Because the built-in 5/2 valve routes air without a mechanical lock, it cannot hold a load without live pressure—use AirTAC SAIL for pneumatic locking or BSAI for clamp-locking.
At a 1000mm stroke, the rod is highly susceptible to side loads; ensure external guide rails support the load to prevent binding. Replacement requires matching the 50mm bore, 1000mm stroke, 1/8" valve port, DC24V voltage, terminal entry, PT threads, and the -S magnet.
