For applications needing the load clamped at an arbitrary mid-stroke point rather than the stroke end, the BSAI clamp-lock cylinder is the correct choice.
Because the stroke is 225mm, ensure adequate side-load support by using a non-rotating guide or external rails to prevent rod binding. The lock is a static holding device, not a mid-stroke clamp or moving-rod brake. Avoid fast-exhaust valves, as back-pressure on the locker side can inadvertently release the lock; use an independent-exhaust solenoid valve instead. If human safety depends on the load remaining retracted, add an independent mechanical safety measure.
