At 0.5 MPa, it delivers 2513 N of push and 2268 N of pull thrust, scaling up to 4523 N at 0.9 MPa. The 225 mm stroke is a non-standard length for this bore.
This unit uses a 25 mm carbon steel rod and a 3/8 PT port. The variable air cushion at the locker end is 22.5 mm, intentionally shorter than the 36 mm cushion at the free end to accommodate the locking mechanism. To release the lock, supply air to the release port for automatic unlocking or use the manual release lever.

The lock is spring-applied and air-released: a spring drives a lock pin into the rod when the release air is removed, so the load is held at the retracted (rod-in) stroke end without live pressure. Supply air to the release port to unlock automatically, or use the manual release lever.
The lock engages only when the piston reaches the stroke terminal on the back-cover side — it is a static end-of-stroke hold, not a mid-stroke clamp and not a moving-rod brake. For locking at any position along the stroke, choose a BSAI clamp-lock instead.

Cylinder thrust is separate from the lock's holding capability. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure — size with a margin.

Choose this 80 mm bore when a 50 mm bore (1374 N push at 0.7 MPa) lacks the power to hold your load, but a 100 mm bore (5497 N push at 0.7 MPa) is physically oversized. Select SAILB specifically when the load must be secured at the retracted rod-in position; choose SAILF if your application requires holding at the extended rod-out position. If your machine needs to lock at an arbitrary mid-stroke point rather than at the stroke end, use the BSAI clamp-lock cylinder instead. Since the 225 mm stroke exceeds the 150 mm standard maximum for this bore, this is a non-standard configuration requiring custom validation.
For safe operation, do not use a fast-exhaust valve with this lock cylinder. Use an individual-exhaust solenoid valve, as back-pressure on the locker side can inadvertently release the lock. The lock is a static holding device that engages after the cylinder stops, not a dynamic brake for a moving rod. If human safety depends on the load remaining retracted, add an independent safety measure. Replacement requires matching the 80 mm bore, 225 mm stroke, back locker position, 3/8 PT port, and the desired mounting style (Basic, FA, FB, CA, CB, CR, LB, TC, FTC, TCM1, or TCM2).
