The AirTAC Airtac SAUF Series Valve-Mounted Air Cylinder SAUF100X100S-08B is a genuine double-acting profile-type cylinder with a Ø100mm bore, 100mm stroke and a built-in 4M310-08 5/2 solenoid valve — it switches itself from one coil signal, so no separate remote valve or extra plumbing is needed.
The SAUF100X100S-08B is a double-acting profile cylinder with a built-in AirTAC 4M310 5/2 solenoid valve on the cap. One coil signal drives the actuator directly, eliminating remote plumbing and saving a manifold slot. The extruded aluminum barrel is shorter than an ISO 15552 cylinder of the same bore. This 100mm bore version includes a piston magnet for CMSG/DMSG/EMSG switches and delivers a push force of 3927 N at 0.5 MPa.
The integrated valve has a 1/4" port with a Cv of 1.4 and cycles up to 4 times per second. It operates on DC24V with terminal entry and uses PU tube Ø10xØ6.5. The cylinder body rates to 1.0 MPa, but the assembled unit must run within the valve's 0.15-0.8 MPa window. Based on the 0.5 MPa push force, the safe working load is about 2356 N, allowing a vertical lift of roughly 200 kg with a 2:1 margin. The bore's air port is 1/2".

The cylinder rates to 1.0 MPa but the built-in valve operates 0.15–0.8 MPa, so run the assembled SAUF at 0.15–0.8 MPa. Default: rod retracts when the coil is energised (reconfigurable to extend). Specs follow the official AirTAC SAUF datasheet. Port options: PT / G.

Sized within the valve's 0.15–0.8 MPa range. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure.

SAUF does not hold its load without air — the valve routes air, it is not a lock. For a held load, add an external rod lock or a pilot-operated check valve.
Decentralized clamping on large machining centers where running a 1/2" ported cylinder from a central manifold is impractical.
Independent stopper gate control on conveyor lines, saving manifold slots by switching the 4M310 valve directly at the actuator.
Lifting heavy components on an assembly line, utilizing the 200kg vertical lift capacity with a 2:1 safety margin at 0.5 MPa.
Size force within the 0.15-0.8 MPa valve window: this 100mm bore pushes 3927 N at 0.5 MPa, while the 80mm neighbor pushes 2513 N. The 100mm stroke is well above the 75mm SAUF minimum for this bore. Confirm the DC24V terminal entry and PT thread match your supply. The rod retracts when the coil energises; reposition the valve to switch to extend-when-energised. Because the valve only routes air, it is not a load lock—add an external rod lock or pilot-operated check valve to hold a suspended load. For strokes of 300mm or more, use side-load guides to prevent rod bending.
Quick checklist
It pushes 3927 N and pulls 3681 N at 0.5 MPa, reaching 6282 N at 0.8 MPa. The built-in valve is a 4M310-08 (1/4" port, Cv 1.4, max 4 cycles/s) running on DC24V. Although the cylinder body rates to 1.0 MPa, the assembled unit operates at 0.15-0.8 MPa.
By default the rod retracts when the coil is energised. You can reconfigure it to extend-when-energised simply by repositioning the built-in valve. This self-switching design removes the need for a separate remote valve.
