About the Airtac SC100 Standard Cylinder SC100X1100

The AirTAC SC100X1100 is a double-acting tie-rod cylinder delivering 3927 N of push force at 0.5 MPa (7068 N at 0.9 MPa). With a 100 mm bore and an 1100 mm stroke, it is built for long linear movements where consistent pneumatic force is required. The 25 mm diameter piston rod and 29 mm adjustable air cushion help manage end-of-stroke deceleration, protecting the cylinder and the machine structure.

This model uses a PT1/2 port and an M20x1.5 rod thread for secure tooling attachment. The body length A is 188 mm, giving a total extended length of approximately 1288 mm. As a genuine AirTAC SC series cylinder, it provides a compact, non-ISO 15552 tie-rod design that is shorter than a standard profile cylinder, making it a practical choice where space is limited.

Where the Airtac SC100 Standard Cylinder SC100X1100 Is Used

conveyor_belt

Long-Stroke Material Transfer

Pushes or pulls heavy bins, pallets, or components over an 1100 mm distance on roller or belt conveyors, using 3927 N of force at standard line pressure.

precision_manufacturing

Automated Press Feeders

Advances large sheet metal or composite blanks into stamping presses or CNC work zones, where the 25 mm rod provides the rigidity needed for repetitive long-reach cycling.

warehouse

Diverter Gates and Sorters

Operates heavy-duty diverter arms or gate mechanisms in logistics hubs, leveraging the 29 mm cushion to smoothly stop high-inertia loads at the end of the 1100 mm stroke.

Is the Airtac SC100 Standard Cylinder SC100X1100 the Right Cylinder?

Select the SC100 when your application needs a push force around 3927 N at 0.5 MPa. If your load is lighter, stepping down to an SC80 bore reduces force to 2513 N at the same pressure; for heavier loads, the SC125 offers 6136 N. For this 1100 mm stroke, side-load management is critical—an unsupported rod of this length is susceptible to bending under lateral forces. Always use an external guide or a guided cylinder if the load is not purely axial.

To replace an existing cylinder, match five points: 100 mm bore, 1100 mm stroke, PT1/2 port thread, basic (no mounting accessory), and no magnet. This ensures dimensional and performance interchangeability with another AirTAC SC100 tie-rod cylinder.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Required force at your working pressure
  • ✓ Stroke and mounting space
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT/NPT/G)
  • ✓ Magnet (-S) for sensors?
  • ✓ Side load — consider a guided cylinder

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Use clean air filtered to 40µm or finer.
  • check Keep within 0.15 – 1.0 MPa operating pressure.
  • check Avoid side load on the piston rod.
  • check Adjust end cushion screws for smooth stops.
  • check Use correct mounting accessory (FA/FB/CA/CB/LB/TC).
  • check Installation by qualified personnel per AirTAC docs.

Airtac SC100 Standard Cylinder SC100X1100 FAQ

At 0.7 MPa operating pressure, the SC100 bore generates 5497 N of push force. The maximum push force at 0.9 MPa is 7068 N, with a theoretical maximum of 801 kgf at 1.0 MPa.

Only if the load is perfectly axial with no side forces. The 25 mm rod extending 1100 mm is vulnerable to bending and buckling under lateral loads. For any off-axis loading, install an external guide rail or switch to a guided cylinder to prevent rod damage and seal failure.
