About the Airtac SCD Standard Cylinder SCD125X30

The SCD125X30 is a double-acting, double-rod pneumatic cylinder that outputs an identical 5734 N of thrust in both directions at 0.5 MPa, thanks to its through-rod design. With a 32 mm rod protruding from both end caps, it provides symmetric force and speed for precise bidirectional actuation on a compact 30 mm stroke.

This ISO 6430 class tie-rod cylinder features a PT1/2 port and an M27x2 rod thread. Its 28 mm adjustable air cushion decelerates the piston smoothly at each end of travel, protecting the end caps during high-cycle, short-stroke indexing tasks.

Is the Airtac SCD Standard Cylinder SCD125X30 the Right Cylinder?

For applications needing more force, the SCD160X30 steps up to 9425 N at 0.5 MPa. If a single-rod SC125X30 is sufficient and only one working end is needed, it offers a higher push force on the full-bore side. To replace an existing SCD125X30, match the bore, 30 mm stroke, PT port thread, basic mounting, and confirm if the original had a magnet option. At this short 30 mm stroke, rod bending is not a concern.

The through-rod also provides better guidance than a single-rod cylinder, though it is not a substitute for a fully guided unit under high side loads.
