The AirTAC Airtac SCD Standard Cylinder SCD200X600S is a genuine double-acting DOUBLE-ROD air cylinder: the Ø40mm piston rod extends from BOTH end caps, giving equal effective area — and therefore equal force — in push and pull. Ø200mm bore, 600mm stroke, PT3/4 ports and adjustable end cushioning.
The SCD200X600S delivers identical force in both directions, outputting 15080 N of thrust at 0.5 MPa thanks to its balanced double-rod design. With a substantial 40 mm rod passing through both end caps, this cylinder provides excellent guidance and is ideal for tooling that needs to be mounted on either side of the piston.
This model includes a built-in magnet, allowing for direct mounting of CMSG, DMSG, or EMSG sensors on the tie-rod barrel for non-contact position sensing. The 600 mm stroke is well within the standard range for the 200 mm bore, and the body length is 362 mm, providing a robust platform for heavy-duty, symmetrical actuation tasks.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC SCD (double-rod) datasheet. Because the rod runs through both caps, the effective area is (bore² − rod²) in both directions. Confirm against the product label before installation. Thread options: PT (standard) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 15080 N | 15080 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 21111 N | 21111 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 3075 kgf | |
Push and pull are EQUAL on a double-rod cylinder — both chambers lose the rod area, so effective area = (bore² − rod²) each way. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure; size with a safety margin.

Drives large forming or stamping platens where equal force in both directions is critical for consistent part quality and the rear rod can actuate an ejector mechanism.
Moves heavy pallets or transfer shuttles in automated lines, using the front rod to push and the rear rod to pull the next pallet into position simultaneously.
Operates large welding or assembly fixtures where two opposing clamps must be actuated by a single, centrally mounted cylinder to ensure perfect timing.
Select the SCD200X600S when your application requires a massive, equal push-pull force that a single-rod cylinder cannot provide. If 15080 N at 0.5 MPa is more than needed, stepping down to the 125 mm bore SCD series halves the force to 5734 N. For applications with significant side loading on the extended 600 mm stroke, remember that while the double rod offers better support than a single rod, an external guide or a dedicated guided cylinder is necessary for true high-precision lateral stability. A direct replacement must match the 200 mm bore, 600 mm stroke, PT port thread, basic mounting, and the integrated magnet.
Double-rod checklist
The force is identical in both directions because the piston rod extends through both ends. At 0.5 MPa, the output is 15080 N. At the maximum operating pressure of 0.9 MPa, the force increases to 27143 N.
Choose the SCD when you need perfectly equal speed and force for both extend and retract strokes, or when you need to mount tooling, flags, or stops on the rear rod. The through-rod also provides better bearing support than a single-rod design.
