This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is SAUD100X150 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the SAUD100X150 in place of this model. The SAU replacement uses the same profile body, bore, stroke, force and SC-series mounting. It moves to the current CMSG / DMSG / EMSG sensor switches (the SU used CS1-B / DS1-B) and adds the SAUF valve-integrated option.

The AirTAC Airtac SUD Series Double Rod Cylinder SUD100X150 is a double-acting profile-type standard cylinder with a Ø100mm bore and 150mm stroke, 1/2" air ports and adjustable end cushioning. This model is discontinued — the drop-in replacement is the SAUD100X150, which matches its bore, stroke, force and mounting.
The AirTAC SUD100X150 is a double-acting, double-rod profile cylinder that is officially discontinued; its exact drop-in replacement is the SAUD100X150. Because a rod exits both ends on one piston, both faces use the rod-side area, meaning push and pull force are equal at 3681 N @0.5 MPa, 5153 N @0.7 MPa, and 6626 N @0.9 MPa. The extruded aluminium profile barrel is shorter than an ISO 15552 cylinder of the same bore, and this 100mm bore model features a 25mm rod, M20x1.5 rod thread, 29mm adjustable air cushions at each end, and a 1/2" port.
This non-magnet SKU cannot take a magnetic switch, whereas the SAUD upgrade uses current CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensors (the SUD used legacy CS1-B/DS1-B). A double-rod design prevents rotation and lets the back rod drive a second tool. For sizing, the safe working load is about 2209 N (60% of the 3681 N @0.5 figure), yielding a vertical lift capacity of roughly 188 kg with a 2:1 margin. Note that a plain cylinder does not hold loads on air loss; the cushion only decelerates near stroke end, so use an external rod lock for held loads.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC SU datasheet (now discontinued). The SAUD100X150 carries the same ratings. Confirm against the product label before installation. Thread options: PT / G / NPT.

The SAUD100X150 produces the same force from the same bore — a true drop-in on output. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

Legacy SU-family variants: SUD (double rod), SUJ (adjustable stroke) — each maps to its SAU equivalent (SUD→SAUD, SUJ→SAUJ). The current SAU line adds the SAUF valve-integrated option.
Drives two opposing machining heads simultaneously using both extending rods, ensuring perfectly synchronized cutting cycles without requiring a separate cylinder.
Pushes heavy pallets along a conveyor with high lateral stability, using the double-rod construction to prevent the piston from twisting under offset loads.
Clamps large workpieces from both sides evenly, using the equal push and pull force to maintain precise centering during heavy-duty pressing operations.
To replace the discontinued SUD100X150, select the drop-in SAUD100X150, which matches the 100mm bore, 150mm stroke, 1/2" port, and FA/LB mounting. Size both directions by checking the equal-both-ways force against your load, stepping to neighbouring bores if needed. Choose a double-rod cylinder when you need anti-rotation or must drive two tools. Since this is a non-magnet SKU, it cannot take sensors; upgrading to the SAUD requires switching to CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensors. For strokes >=300mm, verify your side-load limits. Finally, because air cushions only decelerate and do not hold loads, add an external rod lock for vertical lifting.
Replacement checklist
Yes, the SUD100X150 is discontinued. The exact drop-in replacement is the SAUD100X150, which shares the same 100mm bore, 150mm stroke, 1/2" port, and FA/LB mounting.
The 1/2" ported SUD100X150 provides equal push and pull force both ways: 3681 N @0.5 MPa, 5153 N @0.7 MPa, and 6626 N @0.9 MPa. It never quotes a larger single-rod push value.
