GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4in NPT, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4in NPT, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4in NPT, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR200-08 is a size-200 filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single 1/4 in NPT body. This configuration carries the standard 40 um filter element, a manual drain bowl in PC (polycarbonate), and the embedded square gauge scaled in bar, so one unit handles both air preparation duties at the point of use.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and options including automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um filter element (code W), alternative gauge scales and G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4in NPT, Manual Drain

GFR200G-series filter regulator, 200 body — sets the port range.
08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).

(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
3Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

Size Class

  • GFR200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GFR300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GFR400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4in NPT, Manual Drain Is Used

factory

Machine-shop pneumatic drop

Feeding clean, pressure-set air to a bench-mounted impact wrench or clamping fixture on a machining-cell air drop, with the manual drain emptied during shift checks.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line actuator supply

Conditioning air for cylinders and grippers on a carton-sealing or case-packing conveyor, where the regulator sets consistent actuation pressure and the 40 um element keeps debris out of valves.

precision_manufacturing

Assembly-robot air prep

Point-of-use filtration and regulation ahead of a pick-and-place robot's gripper circuit, with the bar-scaled square gauge giving operators a local setpoint reference.

Is the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4in NPT, Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Start with the size and port: the 200 frame with 1/4 in NPT threads suits compact point-of-use drops; step up to 300, 400 or 600 if the circuit demands more flow capacity. The manual drain on this unit means an operator opens the bowl drain during checks - choose automatic or differential-pressure drain codes if the installation is unattended. The standard 40 um element covers general plant air; specify the W code for 5 um filtration where downstream equipment needs finer air. The embedded square gauge is fitted here in bar; MPa and psi scales and an external round gauge are alternatives, and G (BSPP) or NPT threads can be ordered instead of the PT standard. A mounting bracket is included.

Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4in NPT, Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Tell us your application and required flow and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request.

The M in GFR20008MF3T specifies a manual drain bowl: condensate is emptied by opening the drain during routine checks, which suits attended installations. If the unit will sit unattended, order the automatic (A) or differential-pressure (blank) drain code instead. The manual-drain version also allows the widest regulation range, 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi).
