The AirTAC GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4 in, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR200-08 is a size-200 filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus downstream pressure regulation in a single body. This configuration carries a 1/4 in NPT port, a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two catalogue grades), a manual drain on the PC bowl, an external round pressure gauge reading in MPa, and a built-in reverse/check valve. The regulator is the standard type with an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the unit is supplied without a mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of 40 um or 5 um filtration, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use conditioning for a CNC machining centre: the 5 um element removes water and fine particulate before air reaches tool-clamp and tool-change actuators, while the regulator holds a steady setting for consistent clamping behaviour. The manual drain suits a station an operator visits each shift.
Conditioning the 1/4 in drop feeding pick-and-place and carton-sealing cylinders on a packaging conveyor. The regulator keeps actuator pressure stable through the shift, the check valve holds the downstream setting if supply pressure dips, and the MPa gauge gives the line technician a visible setpoint.
Clean, regulated air for benchtop analytical or test instruments running off a shop-air drop. The 5 um grade protects sensitive pneumatic internals from fine contamination, and the manual-drain PC bowl lets lab staff visibly check and bleed accumulated water on a controlled schedule.
Start with the port and size step: GFR200 takes a 1/4 in port here (06 to 25 map from 1/8 in up to 1 in across the family), and the size you choose should follow the flow your line needs rather than the pipe alone. Drain type is a real decision: manual (this unit) needs periodic bleeding, automatic drains continuously, and the differential-pressure default drains on a pressure drop. Filtration is 40 um standard or 5 um (this unit, code W) when finer particle removal matters. Gauge options are the embedded square gauge or an external round gauge, in MPa, psi or bar scales; this unit carries a round MPa gauge. Threads are PT as standard with G and NPT as catalogue options - this unit is NPT. A mounting bracket is optional (omitted here), and a reverse/check valve can be fitted (fitted here). Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so send us your application conditions and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a lumped figure here. Tell us your operating pressure and the flow your application needs and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet curves on request before you order.
The M in the code specifies a manual drain on the bowl: accumulated water is released by hand rather than automatically. Choose manual where the unit sits at an attended station and someone can bleed it routinely; choose automatic for remote or infrequently visited installations. Note that with a manual drain the regulator adjustment range is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi).
