GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR200-08 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single compact body. This configuration is the size 200 unit with a 1/4 in NPT port, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, and the standard 40 um filter element. The manual drain means an operator opens the bowl drain to expel collected condensate, which suits installations visited during routine checks. With no gauge fitted, add a separate gauge if a visual pressure reading is wanted at the point of use. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the standard regulator adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). A mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter regulator family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and options include 5 um filtration (code W), automatic or differential-pressure draining, an embedded square gauge or external round gauge in MPa, psi or bar scales, a reverse/check valve, and G (BSPP) or NPT threads in place of the PT standard. We confirm flow and datasheet figures on request, since flow is published as curves rather than a single rating.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).

NNo pressure gauge (N).
(blank)Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square.
(blank)Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Is the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4, Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Start with the port step: this unit is size 200 with a 1/4 in NPT port; larger sizes (300, 400, 600) step up to 3/8 in through 1 in, so match the size to the air demand of the circuit. Choose the drain to suit access: manual (this unit) for attended installations, automatic for unattended ones, or the differential-pressure default. The standard element is 40 um; specify 5 um (code W) where finer particulate removal is needed. If you want a pressure reading, select the embedded square gauge or the external round gauge and its scale (MPa, psi or bar). Thread is PT as standard; G (BSPP) and NPT are order options, and this unit is supplied with an NPT port. A bracket is included; J codes omit it. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4, Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for this family as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number. Tell us your application and required flow, and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet curves on request before you order.

The M in the code specifies a manual drain: condensate collected in the polycarbonate bowl is released by opening the drain by hand. It suits installations that are checked regularly. For unattended or hard-to-reach points, choose the automatic drain (code A) or the differential-pressure default instead.
