The AirTAC GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4 Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR200-08 is a compact filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is the 200 size with a 1/4 in NPT port, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a 40 um standard filter element, and the low-pressure regulator type. It ships with the embedded square pressure gauge scaled in MPa, and has no mounting bracket fitted.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and options including automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um filter element (code W), alternative gauge scales in psi or bar, and G (BSPP) or NPT threads in place of the PT standard. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm the datasheet and sizing figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR200 | G-series filter regulator, 200 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On a CNC fixture line where workpieces are held by air clamps that must not be over-pressurised, the GFR200-08 filters the shop air and holds a reduced, low-pressure setting to the clamp circuit, with the manual drain bled at shift start.
Feeding the sealing and forming cylinders of a carton or blister packaging machine, this unit removes water carried over from the compressor and regulates the gentle pressure the sealing actuators need, protecting the PC bowl line downstream.
On a lab test bench running pneumatic instruments at reduced pressure, the GFR200-08 conditions the incoming compressed air and lets a technician dial in and read the supply pressure on the MPa gauge, with the manual drain emptied after each session.
Start with the size and port: the 200 series with a 1/4 in NPT port suits lines where downstream demand is modest; step up to 300, 400 or 600 if the application draws more air. Because this is the low-pressure type (code L), confirm the working band you need against the datasheet before ordering. Choose the drain to match service: this unit has a manual drain (code M), which suits attended installations where an operator can bleed the bowl; choose automatic or differential-pressure drain codes for unattended duty. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify code W for the 5 um element where finer filtration is required. The square gauge fitted here reads in MPa; psi and bar scales are available, and an external round gauge is an option. G (BSPP) and NPT threads are order options against the PT standard, and a mounting bracket can be added where the code calls for it.
Flow for this series is published as curves, not a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no one rated flow number we can quote. Tell us your line pressure and the air demand of your equipment and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet curves on request before you order.
This configuration carries the M code, meaning the polycarbonate bowl is emptied by hand, which suits installations that are checked regularly. If the unit will sit unattended, the GFR series is also available with an automatic drain (code A) or a differential-pressure drain (blank code), and the regulator adjustment range differs by drain type on the standard versions, so pick the drain code to match how the unit will be serviced.
