GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR200-08 is a compact filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has 1/4 in NPT ports, a manual drain on a polycarbonate bowl, a 40 um standard filter element, and a round pressure gauge reading in bar. The regulator is the standard type with an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi); maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and operating temperature is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). No mounting bracket is fitted and no reverse/check valve is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part in the GFR200 series. The GFR family is also available in 300, 400 and 600 sizes with larger ports, automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um (W) filter element, embedded square or external round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and G (BSPP) or NPT threads instead of the PT standard. Rated flow is published as curves rather than a single figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain

GFR200G-series filter regulator, 200 body — sets the port range.
08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
3Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic press clamping

Feeding clean, regulated air to the clamping cylinder on a small pneumatic press or jig fixture, where the operator sets and holds a consistent clamp pressure and drains the bowl during routine checks.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line air prep

Conditioning the air supply to grippers and divert cylinders on a cartoning or case-packing conveyor, protecting the actuators from water and debris while keeping working pressure stable.

factory

Bottling line actuator supply

A point-of-use filter regulator on a bottling or filling machine, supplying the valve and actuator manifold with filtered air at the pressure the machine builder specifies.

Is the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Size 200 with 1/4 in NPT ports suits circuits with modest air demand; step up to GFR300, GFR400 or GFR600 when the required flow calls for a larger port. The manual drain (code M) means an operator opens the drain valve to release collected condensate - if the unit will sit somewhere hard to reach, the same size is offered with an automatic (A) or differential-pressure (blank) drain. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify W for 5 um where finer filtration is needed. The round gauge here reads in bar; an embedded square gauge and MPa or psi scales are available options. NPT is an order option - PT is the catalogue standard thread and G (BSPP) is also offered. The J code means no mounting bracket is supplied. Flow for this series is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your supply pressure and the flow your application needs, and we will confirm from the datasheet whether the 1/4 in GFR200 size is suitable before you order.

The M in GFR20008MJC3T is the manual drain: an operator opens the drain valve to empty collected condensate from the polycarbonate bowl. If the unit will be mounted where regular draining is impractical, the same size is available with an automatic (A) or differential-pressure (blank) drain - ask us for that variant.
