GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4, 5 um, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4, 5 um, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4, 5 um, Auto Drain

The GFR300-08 is an AirTAC GFR-series filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus downstream pressure regulation combined in a single body. This configuration has G1/4 (BSPP) ports, a 5 um filter element (code W, against the 40 um standard), an automatic drain that clears condensate from the PC bowl without operator attention, and a round pressure gauge reading in psi. It is the low-pressure (L) type, and a mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, and can be ordered with manual or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um elements, square or round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. Rated flow is published only as curves, so ask us to confirm sizing figures from the datasheet before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
ADrain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
LLow-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.

(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
WFiltering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
GG (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4, 5 um, Auto Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic clamping on a machining cell

Filtered, regulated air to clamp fixtures on a CNC machining cell: the 5 um element keeps fine particulate out of the clamping cylinders while the low-pressure regulator holds a steady set pressure downstream.

science

Laboratory automation air supply

Point-of-use air preparation for laboratory automation and analytical instrument enclosures, where the low-pressure regulator type and fine 5 um filtration suit delicate actuation and purge air duties.

conveyor_belt

Conveyor diverters and stoppers

Supplying filtered, regulated air to diverters, stoppers and lift-and-locate units on a packaging conveyor, with the automatic drain clearing bowl condensate without operator attention.

Is the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4, 5 um, Auto Drain the Right Unit?

The real, decodable choices are: size step (200/300/400/600) against the flow your line needs, with this unit at size 300 on G1/4 ports; drain type - automatic (this unit), manual, or the differential-pressure default; filter grade - 40 um standard or 5 um (W) for finer particulate, as fitted here; gauge - embedded square standard with an external round option, scaled in MPa, psi (this unit) or bar; thread - PT is the standard, with G and NPT as order options; and the mounting bracket, included unless J is specified. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so send us your application and we will confirm sizing from the datasheet before you order.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4, 5 um, Auto Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes GFR flow as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your application details and we will confirm the flow and sizing figures from the datasheet on request.

The A code fits an automatic drain, which expels collected condensate from the PC bowl without anyone having to open it - the alternative is a manual drain emptied by hand. The L code marks the low-pressure regulator type; its exact regulation range is not published here, so we confirm it on request.
