GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-08 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure steady, in one size-300 body. This configuration carries a G1/4 (BSPP) port, a 5 um filter element (the finer option over the standard 40 um grade), a manual-drain polycarbonate bowl, a round pressure gauge reading in psi, and a built-in reverse/check valve that holds downstream pressure if the upstream supply drops. Max inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi); the regulation range is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi); operating temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. The J code means no mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, PT (standard), G or NPT threads, manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um elements, and embedded square or external round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
WFiltering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
GG (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
KReverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

CNC machining centre clamping

Installed ahead of a CNC machining centre, it strips moisture and particles down to 5 um and holds a steady set pressure to pneumatic clamps and tool-change actuators.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line sealing cylinders

Mounted at the drop of a packaging conveyor line, it conditions air for carton-forming and heat-seal cylinders, with the check valve holding the circuit if upstream supply dips.

factory

Assembly cell valve manifold

Feeding the directional-valve manifold of a manual assembly cell, it delivers filtered, regulated air so cylinders and air tools see a stable supply through the shift.

Is the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Pick the size step (200/300/400/600) and its port against the air demand of your line - larger sizes carry larger ports and more flow, though flow is published as curves rather than a single rating. This unit is already set with the finer 5 um element over the standard 40 um grade, a manual drain (simple and low-cost, but the bowl needs periodic attention; automatic and differential-pressure drains exist on other variants), a round psi gauge (embedded square gauges and MPa/bar scales are the alternatives), and a G (BSPP) thread - PT is the standard thread and NPT is also an order option. The K code adds a reverse/check valve; the J code omits the mounting bracket. Ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes GFR flow as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow number. Tell us your line demand and we will confirm the correct size and the datasheet figures on request.

The M code fits a manual drain: condensate collects in the polycarbonate bowl and is released by hand, so the bowl should be checked as part of routine maintenance. Automatic and differential-pressure drains are available on other GFR variants.
