GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-08 is a size-300 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has a 1/4 in NPT port, an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, a 40 um standard filter element, and a round pressure gauge with a bar scale. The polycarbonate bowl is rated for a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the unit operates from -5 to 70 C in non-freezing conditions. No mounting bracket and no reverse/check valve are fitted in this variant.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 inch, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, a 5 um optional element (code W), gauge styles and scales, and G or NPT thread options. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
3Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Is the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4, Auto Drain the Right Unit?

Size 300 with a 1/4 in NPT port suits lines where actuator and cylinder air demand sits in the mid range; step up to size 400 or 600 for higher flow, or down to size 200 for compact circuits. The automatic drain on this unit keeps the bowl clear without operator attention, which matters on lines that run unattended; a manual drain (code M) is the choice where periodic checks are routine. The 40 um element is the standard grade for general actuation; specify the 5 um W option where finer protection is needed. The round gauge here reads in bar; square embedded gauges and MPa or psi scales are alternatives. PT is the standard thread and G (BSPP) or NPT are order options - this unit is the NPT version. A mounting bracket is not included in this J-coded variant. Because flow is published as curves and not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4, Auto Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR300 series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Tell us your operating pressure and air demand and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet curves on request before you order.

The A in the code means condensate is discharged automatically from the bowl, so the unit keeps working without someone opening the drain each shift. The alternatives are the default differential-pressure drain and a manual drain (code M); all three share the same 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) regulation range on this unit.
