GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4 in, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4 in, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4 in, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-08 combines water and particulate filtration with pressure regulation in a single body, sized for 1/4 in (NPT) pipework. This configuration carries an automatic drain, so collected condensate is expelled from the PC bowl without anyone opening it, and a 40 um standard filter element. The built-in square gauge reads in psi so setpoints can be checked at a glance, and a reverse/check valve is fitted. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the standard regulator adjusts from 0.15 to 0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the unit operates from -5 to 70 C in non-freezing conditions. A mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR300 series. The GFR line spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, PT/G/NPT threads, manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um element option (code W), gauge scale options and a low-pressure type. Flow figures are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
KReverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4 in, Auto Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic press station

Feeding a bench-mounted pneumatic press or clamp cylinder: the GFR300-08 strips water and swarf from the shop air line and holds a steady regulated pressure to the valve and cylinder, with the psi gauge letting the setter verify the setpoint.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line air supply

Supplying clean, regulated air to carton-sealing or wrapping machinery on a packaging line, where the automatic drain keeps condensate out of the machine without daily bowl checks during multi-shift running.

factory

Plant air drop for actuators

A point-of-use drop from a factory air main serving air cylinders and actuators: the 40 um element catches pipe scale and water, the regulator sets the working pressure, and the check valve holds the downstream circuit if the main is vented.

Is the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4 in, Auto Drain the Right Unit?

Step up or down through the GFR sizes (200/300/400/600) to match the port and flow path your line needs; this unit is the 300 size with 1/4 in NPT threads. Choose the drain to suit maintenance access: automatic (as here) empties the bowl unattended, manual drains on demand, and the differential-pressure default responds to the pressure drop across the element. The standard 40 um element suits general plant air; specify the 5 um W option where finer protection matters. Gauge scale (MPa, psi or bar), PT vs G/NPT thread, and the bracket option are all ordered in the code. Because flow is published as curves rather than one rated figure, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 1/4 in, Auto Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes GFR flow as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number. Tell us your working pressure and air demand and we will confirm the flow from the datasheet curves on request before you order.

The A in the code specifies an automatic drain: condensate collected in the PC bowl is expelled without manual intervention. Manual and differential-pressure drains are also available in the GFR300 series and are selected by the drain code when ordering.
