The AirTAC GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR300-08 is an AirTAC GFR300 filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus downstream pressure regulation combined in a single body. This configuration has 1/4 inch NPT ports, a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two catalogue grades), an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, a fitted external round pressure gauge reading in MPa, and a built-in reverse/check valve that holds the downstream setting if upstream supply is interrupted. It is ordered without a mounting bracket. The standard regulator adjusts from 0.15 to 0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the unit handles a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi) at temperatures from -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter-regulator family spans four sizes (200, 300, 400 and 600) with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 inch, and options that include manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um filtration, square or round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Published flow data appears as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm flow and datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds clean, regulated air to the tool-clamp and chip-clearing circuits of a CNC machining centre, with the 5 um element helping protect tight-tolerance valves from particulate carryover.
Placed ahead of the valve manifold on a cartoning or wrapping line, it strips condensate and fines from the supply and holds a stable set pressure for consistent jaw and pusher action.
Conditions the air feeding gripper and vacuum-generator circuits on a robotic handling cell; the reverse/check valve helps hold the downstream setting through brief supply dips.
Choose the size step (200/300/400/600) and port (here 1/4 inch NPT) against the air consumption of the tools or actuators downstream - larger sizes carry larger ports and more flow. Drain type is a real operating choice: automatic (this unit) suits unattended or hard-to-reach installations, manual suits periodic checks, and differential-pressure draining is the catalogue default. Filter grade is 40 um standard or 5 um (this unit) where finer particulate removal is needed. Gauge scale is MPa, psi or bar, embedded square or external round. Thread is PT as the standard, with G and NPT as orderable options (this unit is NPT). Brackets are optional. Flow for this family is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated l/min or SCFM number. Tell us your operating pressure and air consumption and we will confirm the flow from the datasheet curves for your application on request.
The 5 um grade (code W) is the finer of the two catalogue filter grades, chosen when downstream valves and actuators need finer particulate removal than the 40 um standard. The automatic drain expels collected condensate by itself, which suits installations that are not checked daily. Both are orderable alternatives to the 40 um / differential-pressure-drain defaults.
