The AirTAC GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4 5um Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR300-08 is a 300-size filter regulator that cleans compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is fitted with a 5 um filter element for finer water and particulate removal than the standard 40 um grade, an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, and an external round pressure gauge reading in psi. The regulator is the standard type with an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the 1/4 inch NPT port suits compact supply drops, machine panels and point-of-use take-offs. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl keeps the media visible; note that no mounting bracket is included with this variant.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter-regulator family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, a choice of PT (standard), G or NPT thread, manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge style and scale options, and low-pressure or standard regulator types. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |

| J | Supplied without bracket. |

| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding clamps and small pneumatic cylinders on a machining fixture, where the 5 um element protects precision valve spools and the regulator holds a repeatable clamping pressure at the point of use.
Conditioning the supply to a cartoning or wrapping line: the automatic drain keeps condensate out of the machine during long unattended runs, and the regulator sets the pressure the sealing and pick-and-place circuits were designed for.
Supplying air knives, blow-off nozzles and pneumatic sensors along a conveyor line, where the 5 um grade keeps fine jets from clogging and the psi gauge lets operators verify set pressure at a glance.
Start with the port step: 300 size carries 1/4 inch ports, and the right size depends on the air demand of the circuit - step up to 400 or 600 for higher flow rather than oversizing the regulator setting. This unit already carries the finer 5 um element (code W); choose 40 um where only bulk water and coarse particles need removing. The automatic drain suits unattended or hard-to-reach installations; manual drain suits attended points where you want to control discharge, and differential-pressure drain is the catalogue default. The round psi gauge is fitted here; embedded square gauges and MPa or bar scales are the other options. PT is the standard thread and G or NPT are order options - this unit is specified NPT. A bracket can be ordered on variants that include one; this J-coded unit has none.
Flow for this family is published as curves, not a single rated figure, so send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR family as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a l/min, m3/h or SCFM number. Tell us your application and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet on request before you order.
The W in the code GFR30008AJC2WT specifies the optional 5 um filter grade instead of the standard 40 um element, giving finer removal of water and particulate. The A specifies an automatic drain, which discharges collected condensate by itself - useful where the unit is mounted in an awkward or unattended position. A manual-drain or differential-pressure-drain version can be ordered instead if preferred.
