GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4 Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4 Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4 Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR300 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure at your setpoint in one compact body. This GFR300-08 is fitted with a 1/4 in NPT port, a manual-drain polycarbonate bowl, a 40 um standard filter element and an embedded square gauge scaled in MPa. The standard regulator adjusts from 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi); maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. No reverse/check valve is fitted.

This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR300 size of the G-series, which spans sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in and PT, G or NPT threads. Within the family you can order automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um element (code W) and an external round gauge with MPa, psi or bar scales. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4 Manual Drain

GFR300G-series filter regulator, 300 body — sets the port range.
08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
1Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4 Manual Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

CNC machining cell air prep

Point-of-use filter regulator feeding solenoid valves and pneumatic clamps on a CNC machine: the 40 um element catches pipe scale and condensed water, while the regulator holds a steady setpoint so clamping force stays repeatable.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line cylinder supply

Mounted at the drop to a packaging conveyor's pneumatic cylinders and diverters: clean, regulated air stops seal drag and erratic stroke timing caused by pressure swings and moisture in the plant supply.

factory

Assembly bench air drops

Installed on the air drop serving assembly-bench tools and small actuators: the manual-drain bowl is bled at shift start to purge collected water, and the MPa gauge lets operators verify setpoint at a glance.

Is the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4 Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Size the GFR300 by the port step: this unit is 1/4 in NPT, and the 200/300/400/600 sizes step up port and flow capacity - choose the size above your peak air demand. The real choices on this configuration are: manual drain (you bleed the bowl by hand; automatic and differential-pressure drains are order options), the 40 um standard element versus the 5 um W grade for finer protection, the gauge scale, and the thread (PT is the standard; G and NPT are catalogue options to order). This unit is supplied without a mounting bracket - order one if you panel-mount. Because flow is published as curves, not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4 Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your application details - inlet pressure, setpoint and expected air demand - and we will confirm the datasheet flow curve and check the sizing with you before you order.

The M in GFR30008MJF1T means the polycarbonate bowl is drained by hand: open the drain valve periodically to purge collected water and contaminants. If you want unattended drainage, automatic and differential-pressure drain versions are available in the GFR300 family. This unit is rated to 1.0 MPa (145 psi) maximum inlet pressure and -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
