The AirTAC GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, PT1/4, 5 um, Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR300-08 is a filter regulator: filtration and pressure regulation combined in a single body, so one unit removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds a set downstream pressure. This configuration is built on the GFR300 size with PT1/4 (1/4 in) ports in standard PT thread, a 5 um filter element (the W grade, finer than the 40 um standard), a manual-drain bowl in polycarbonate, the low-pressure regulator type, and an embedded square gauge reading in psi. No mounting bracket is included (code J). Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 in, and options include automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 40 um standard element, alternative gauge scales (MPa or bar) and an external round gauge, plus G or NPT thread variants to order. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding spray guns on a finishing line: the 5 um element keeps particulate out of the air path while the low-pressure regulator holds a steady, gentle setting at the gun, and the manual-drain bowl is emptied during booth clean-downs.
Regulating supply to pick-and-place cylinders and sealing jaws on a packaging line, where a stable low-pressure setting protects delicate product handling and the square psi gauge gives operators a visible setpoint.
Supplying filtered, regulated air to pneumatic clamps and workholding fixtures on a CNC cell, with the 5 um grade protecting valve and cylinder internals and the gauge letting setters verify clamp pressure at a glance.
Choose the size by port and flow: this unit is size 300 with PT1/4 ports; larger sizes (400, 600) carry bigger ports and more flow, smaller sizes (200) less. The 5 um element suits air that feeds sensitive components; the 40 um standard element is the default choice for general plant air. The manual drain (code M) means someone drains the bowl by hand on a routine; if that does not suit the installation, the family also offers automatic and differential-pressure drains. The square gauge is set to psi here; MPa and bar scales and an external round gauge are alternatives, and G (BSPP) or NPT threads can be ordered instead of PT. No bracket is included with the J code. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for this family as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow and sizing data from the datasheet on request before you order.
The M in the code is a manual drain: water and contaminant collect in the polycarbonate bowl and someone drains it by hand as part of routine maintenance. If unattended draining is needed, the same family is available with automatic or differential-pressure drains.
