The AirTAC GFR300-08 Low-Pressure Filter Regulator NPT1/4 AirTAC is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR300 series combines a filter and a pressure regulator in a single body: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds a set downstream pressure. This GFR300-08 is the low-pressure type with a 1/4 in NPT port, a manual drain (code M), a 5 um filter element (code W) and a fitted square gauge reading in psi. The polycarbonate bowl collects condensate until you vent it by hand, and the low-pressure regulator suits circuits that hold a lower set pressure than a standard unit is intended for. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 in, and options for automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um elements, gauge scales in MPa, psi or bar, and G, NPT or PT threads. Rated flow is published as curves rather than a single figure, so ask us to confirm sizing and datasheet details for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR300 | G-series filter regulator, 300 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds spray guns on a finishing line where the regulator holds a low, steady set pressure and the 5 um element keeps moisture and particles out of the finish.
Prepares air for the small cylinders and grippers on a benchtop automation cell, with the square psi gauge giving the operator a direct pressure readout.
Filters and regulates the air feeding the tape-head and flap-tuck cylinders on a packaging conveyor, with the manual drain emptied during shift checks.
Size 300 with a 1/4 in NPT port is the middle step of the GFR range; step up to size 400 or 600 when the circuit needs a larger port, and match the port thread to your piping - PT is the standard, with G and NPT as order options. This unit is the low-pressure type (code L), so its regulation range differs from the standard GFR300; we confirm the exact range from the datasheet on request. The 5 um element (code W) is the finer of the two published grades; the 40 um standard element is the coarser choice where air quality demands are lighter. The square gauge is fitted and reads in psi (scale 2); external round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales are available. Drain is manual, so someone drains the bowl by hand - automatic and differential-pressure drains are options in the family. No mounting bracket is included with the J code.
Because flow for this series is published as curves and not as a single rated number, ask us to check the curve against your required pressure and equipment before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your application details - the pressure you need and the equipment this unit will supply - and we will confirm the flow and sizing from the datasheet on request.
The M code means the bowl drain is operated by hand: open it periodically to release the water and contamination that collect in the polycarbonate bowl. If you would rather not rely on manual draining, the GFR300 family is also available with automatic or differential-pressure drains - ask us for those model codes.
