GFR300-08 NPT1/4 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure

The AirTAC GFR300-08 NPT1/4 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR300-08 NPT1/4 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure

The AirTAC GFR300-08 is a 300-size filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration carries a 1/4 in NPT port, a manual drain on the polycarbonate bowl, the standard 40 um filter element, and the low-pressure regulator type - suited to circuits that run below standard regulated pressures. A square embedded gauge scaled in bar is fitted, and a mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is offered in 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 inch, a choice of PT, G or NPT thread, manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 40 um standard or 5 um (W) element, and gauge options. We confirm flow and datasheet figures on request, since flow is published as curves rather than a single rating.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

GFR300G-series filter regulator, 300 body — sets the port range.
08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
LLow-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
(blank)Mounting bracket included.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
3Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR300-08 NPT1/4 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure Is Used

factory

Pneumatic clamping on a machining line

Feeding clamp and fixture cylinders on a production machine, where filtered air and a steady regulated supply below standard pressures keep clamping consistent through the shift.

view_module

Packaging machinery air preparation

Supplying carton-forming and wrapping stations on a packaging line, with the 40 um element protecting directional valves and the manual drain cleared during routine checks.

precision_manufacturing

Assembly cell actuator supply

Regulating air to pick-and-place actuators and air-driven tools at an assembly bench, with the bar-scaled gauge giving operators a direct reading of set pressure.

Is the GFR300-08 NPT1/4 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure the Right Unit?

Size the unit by the port and flow step: 200, 300, 400 and 600 are progressively larger in both port and capacity, so pick the size whose published flow curve covers your air demand at working pressure. This unit is the low-pressure regulator type, intended for circuits regulated below standard pressures - confirm the exact range with us before ordering. Drain options are manual (this unit), automatic, or differential-pressure; manual suits supervised installations where an operator can bleed the bowl. The 40 um element is standard; specify W for the 5 um grade where finer filtration is needed. Thread here is NPT; PT is the standard thread and G is also an order option. Gauge scale choices are MPa, psi or bar (bar fitted here), and a bracket is included.

Flow for this family is published as curves, not a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR300-08 NPT1/4 AirTAC Filter Regulator, Low-Pressure FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR family as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow number. Tell us your working pressure and air demand and we will confirm sizing from the datasheet curves on request before you order.

This unit has a manual drain: accumulated condensate in the polycarbonate bowl is released by operating the drain by hand. Choose manual where the unit is accessible and checked regularly; automatic or differential-pressure drains are available on other configurations in the family.
