GFR300-10 NPT3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, 5 um, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-10 NPT3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, 5 um, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR300-10 NPT3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, 5 um, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is the 300 size with a 3/8 in NPT port, a 5 um filter element (the W grade, finer than the standard 40 um), an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, and a round pressure gauge with an MPa scale. The regulator is the standard type with an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), no reverse/check valve is fitted, and no mounting bracket is included. The bowl on this 300 size is polycarbonate (PC).

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, drain types, filter grades, gauge styles and scales, and G, NPT or PT threads. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, we confirm flow and other datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR300-10 NPT3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, 5 um, Auto Drain

GFR300G-series filter regulator, 300 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
ADrain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
1Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
WFiltering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

  • GFR400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR300-10 NPT3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, 5 um, Auto Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

CNC machining center air supply

Conditioning the shop-air feed to a CNC machining center's pneumatic tool-changer and clamping circuits: the 5 um element protects fine valves from particulate and water while the regulator holds a steady set pressure.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line conveyor actuators

Supplying cleaned, regulated air to the cylinders and diverters on a packaging and cartoning conveyor line, where the automatic drain keeps condensate off the actuators during continuous shifts.

science

Laboratory pneumatic test bench

Feeding a laboratory pneumatic test bench where a fine 5 um grade and a closely held regulated pressure are wanted for repeatable instrument and component checks.

Is the GFR300-10 NPT3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, 5 um, Auto Drain the Right Unit?

Size and port are the first choice: step up through 200, 300, 400 and 600 as your port size and air demand grow - this unit sits at 300 with a 3/8 in NPT port. Drain type is a real decision: automatic drain (fitted here) suits unattended duty; manual or differential-pressure drains are the alternatives. Filter grade is 40 um standard or 5 um (code W) for finer protection - this unit carries the 5 um element. The gauge can be the embedded square type or an external round gauge, with MPa, psi or bar scales; here it is a round gauge on MPa. Thread is PT as standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT as orderable options - this unit is NPT. A mounting bracket is optional (not fitted on this code).

One honest note before you order: flow is published as curves, not a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR300-10 NPT3/8 AirTAC Filter Regulator, 5 um, Auto Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow number. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow and sizing from the datasheet on request.

The automatic drain ejects collected condensate on its own, so the bowl does not need manual draining - useful on lines that run unattended. The 5 um element (code W) is finer than the 40 um standard grade, giving better protection for downstream valves and instruments.
