The AirTAC GFR300-15 NPT1/2 AirTAC Filter Regulator, 5 um, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR300-15AJC3WT is a size-300 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure steady in a single body. This configuration is threaded NPT1/2 (1/2 in), carries the fine 5 um filter element (the W grade, one step finer than the 40 um standard), and has an automatic drain, so collected condensate is expelled from the PC bowl without anyone having to open the drain by hand. It is fitted with the external round gauge on a bar scale, has no mounting bracket, and no reverse/check valve.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR300 series is one of four sizes (200/300/400/600) with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, and options include manual or differential-pressure drain, 40 um or 5 um filtration, embedded square or external round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, G/NPT thread variants and a bracket. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet numbers for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |

| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding a pneumatic press or clamping fixture, the 5 um element keeps fine particles out of the press valve stack while the regulator holds the working pressure the tooling was set up for; the automatic drain copes with condensate on a press that cycles all shift without an operator at the bowl.
On a packaging or bottling line driving conveyor diverters and case-eject cylinders, the unit filters water and grit ahead of the directional valves and regulates the supply so cylinder speeds stay repeatable, with the bar-scale round gauge giving the line technician a visible setpoint.
At a 1/2 in plant-air drop feeding an assembly cell with air tools and actuators, the filter-regulator stage cleans and steps down the header supply in one body, and the automatic drain handles the moisture that collects overnight and between shifts without daily manual blowing down.
Size and port drive the choice: the 300 frame with its 1/2 in NPT port suits lines whose air demand sits in the mid range - step up to 400 or 600 for heavier draw, down to 200 for lighter circuits. The 5 um element here is the right pick when downstream valves, cylinders or instruments want finer protection than the standard 40 um grade. The automatic drain suits unattended or hard-to-reach installations; choose manual drain where an operator is on hand, or differential-pressure drain where you want drainage tied to flow conditions. The round bar-scale gauge is fitted on this unit; square embedded gauges and MPa or psi scales are alternatives. NPT is ordered as the T variant - PT is the catalogue standard, and G (BSPP) is also available. A bracket is optional (this unit omits it).
Because flow is published only as curves and not as a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your actual air demand before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR300 series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Tell us your application and required air demand and we will confirm the flow figures from the datasheet for you before you order.
This model is ordered with the A drain code, meaning condensate collected in the PC bowl is expelled automatically - useful where the unit is mounted out of reach or the line runs unattended. The catalogue alternatives are manual drain (M) and differential-pressure drain (the default), and the choice also affects the regulator adjusting range: automatic and differential-pressure drains give 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), while manual drain widens it to 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi).
