GFR30008AF2 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4 in PT, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR30008AF2 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4 in PT, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR30008AF2 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4 in PT, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR30008AF2 is a 300-size filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single compact body. This configuration carries a 1/4 in PT port, the standard 40 um filter element, an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, a standard regulator with a 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) adjustment range, and an embedded square gauge scaled in psi. A mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR series, which spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port options from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, an optional 5 um element (code W), gauge scale in MPa, psi or bar, and G or NPT threads as order options. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR30008AF2 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4 in PT, Auto Drain

GFR300G-series filter regulator, 300 body — sets the port range.
08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
ADrain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
(blank)Mounting bracket included.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
(blank)PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR30008AF2 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4 in PT, Auto Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

CNC machining centre air prep

Feeds clean, pressure-set air to the tool-change clamps and pneumatic actuators on a CNC cell, with the automatic drain keeping condensate out of the valves during unattended shifts.

settings_input_component

Packaging machine valve island supply

Conditions the air feeding the cylinder bank and valve manifold on a cartoning or case-packing line, holding a steady set pressure so seal and eject strokes stay repeatable.

factory

Assembly-line air cylinders

Sits at the drop of a bench assembly line to filter and regulate supply air for clamping and pressing cylinders, with the psi gauge giving operators a direct setpoint readout.

Is the GFR30008AF2 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4 in PT, Auto Drain the Right Unit?

Start with the port step: the 300 size with a 1/4 in PT port suits lines where the supply matches that connection, and the larger 400 or 600 sizes give more flow capacity where needed. Choose the drain to match site practice: automatic (this unit) drains itself, manual puts discharge in the operator's hands, and differential-pressure drains only when the element loads up. The standard element is 40 um; specify the 5 um W grade where finer pre-filtration matters. The embedded square gauge is fitted here with a psi scale, and MPa or bar scales are available. PT is the standard thread; G (BSPP) and NPT are order options, and a no-bracket variant (code J) exists if you mount differently.

Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR30008AF2 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/4 in PT, Auto Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR300 series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the relevant flow and datasheet figures on request before you order.

The A in the code selects the automatic drain, which discharges collected condensate by itself - useful on unattended or hard-to-reach installations. The family also offers manual drain (code M) and the default differential-pressure drain, and the standard filter element is 40 um with a finer 5 um grade available as code W.
