GFR30008MJNT AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4

The AirTAC GFR30008MJNT AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4 is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR30008MJNT AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4

The AirTAC GFR30008MJNT is a 300-size filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has a 1/4 in NPT port, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a 40 um standard filter element, and no gauge fitted. The regulator is the standard type with an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi). Operating temperature is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).

This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR300 series. The G-series filter regulators are available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and with options including automatic or differential-pressure drain, a 5 um element (code W), a square or round pressure gauge, and G or NPT thread in place of the PT standard. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
NNo pressure gauge (N).
(blank)Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square.
(blank)Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Plant drop-leg point-of-use prep

Installed at a drop leg on a factory air ring main to filter and regulate air for a single workstation, with the polycarbonate bowl drained manually at shift start.

Is the GFR30008MJNT AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4 the Right Unit?

Start with the port step: sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 map to 1/8 in through 1 in ports, and the right size depends on the air demand of the circuit it feeds. Because flow for this family is published as curves rather than a single rated number, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering. On this unit the drain is manual, which means an operator drains the bowl; if you prefer hands-off drainage, the same size is available with an automatic or differential-pressure drain. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify the W option for a 5 um element where finer filtration is needed. No gauge is fitted on this code, so add a gauge variant if local pressure indication is required. Thread here is NPT; PT is the standard and G (BSPP) is the alternative order option. A mounting bracket is optional.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR30008MJNT AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4 FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR300 series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so no rated flow number can be quoted here. Send us your air demand and working pressure and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet curves on request before you order.

The M in the code GFR30008MJNT specifies a manual drain bowl: an operator opens the drain to expel collected water. If you want drainage without operator action, the same 300-size filter regulator is available with an automatic drain (code A) or a differential-pressure drain, which is the default when no drain letter is given.
