The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 NPT 5 um Bar is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in one body. This size 400 unit is specified with a 3/8 in NPT port, a 5 um filter element (W grade, finer than the 40 um standard), a differential-pressure drain that bleeds condensate automatically as flow passes through, and an embedded square gauge scaled in bar. The fitted reverse/check valve holds downstream pressure when the upstream supply is removed. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the standard regulator adjustment range is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl gives a clear view of condensate level.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 in, a choice of drain type, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge scale options, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |

| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

A filtered, regulated air drop feeding the tool-change circuit and pneumatic clamps on a machining centre, where the 5 um element protects close-tolerance valves and the bar gauge gives the setter a local pressure readout.
Conditioning the air branch that drives packaging-line cylinders and diverters, with the regulator set to the actuator rating and the check valve holding the circuit while the upstream supply is isolated.
A workbench air drop on a factory ring main: water and particulate knocked out before hand tools and air cylinders, pressure adjusted at the station, and condensate handled by the differential-pressure drain without daily manual bleeding.
Choose the size and port step against the air demand of the circuit: this 400-size unit carries a 3/8 in NPT port, and larger sizes carry larger ports and more flow. The 5 um element (W) suits points where finer particulate removal matters; the 40 um standard element is the everyday choice. The differential-pressure drain on this unit needs no operator attention; an automatic drain or a manual drain can be ordered instead. The embedded square gauge here is scaled in bar; MPa and psi scales and an external round gauge are alternatives. PT is the standard thread; G (BSPP) and NPT are catalogue options to order, as this NPT unit shows. A mounting bracket is optional (this configuration is without one).
Flow for this family is published as curves, not a single rating, so send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR family as curves, not as a single rated figure, so there is no one number we can quote. Tell us your application and operating pressure and we will confirm the relevant flow and datasheet figures on request before you order.
The W in the code sets the 5 um filter grade instead of the 40 um standard, for finer particulate removal. The K in the code fits a reverse/check valve, which holds downstream pressure when the upstream supply is shut off. Both are order-time choices; the drain on this unit is the differential-pressure type, which needs no manual bleeding.
