GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8in PT Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8in PT Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8in PT Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a size-400 filter regulator: one body that first removes water and particulate from compressed air, then regulates the downstream pressure. This configuration is fitted with a PT3/8 (3/8 in) port, an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, the standard 40 um filter element, a round pressure gauge reading in psi, and a polycarbonate bowl. No mounting bracket is included in this version.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of port sizes, G (BSPP) or NPT threads as order options, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um or 5 um (W) filter grades, and square or round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales. Flow figures are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8in PT Auto Drain

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
ADrain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
(blank)PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

  • GFR400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8in PT Auto Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic press air preparation

Cleaned and pressure-regulated air feeding a workshop pneumatic press, with the automatic drain keeping condensate out of the valve stack between shifts.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line cylinder supply

A filtered, regulated air point ahead of the cylinders and diverters on a carton packaging conveyor, where the 40 um element protects directional valves from water and debris.

factory

Plant air drop for assembly cells

A regulated drop at an assembly cell in a factory air ring main, letting operators set a stable working pressure at the station while the automatic drain handles accumulated moisture.

Is the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8in PT Auto Drain the Right Unit?

Start with the port size: this unit is the 3/8 in PT connection in the size-400 body, so step up or down through the 200/300/400/600 range if your line flow or piping differs. Choose the drain to suit access: automatic (this unit) suits enclosed or infrequently attended installations, manual suits supervised points, and differential-pressure is the catalogue default. Filter grade is 40 um standard; specify the W code for 5 um where finer particulate capture is needed. Gauges are embedded square as standard with an external round gauge optional, in MPa, psi or bar scales; this unit carries a round psi gauge. Thread is PT as standard with G (BSPP) and NPT available to order, and a bracket can be added if this no-bracket version needs panel fixing. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8in PT Auto Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a l/min or SCFM number. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow and datasheet figures for the GFR400-10 on request before you order.

This GFR400-10 is coded A for an automatic drain, which ejects collected condensate without anyone opening the bowl - useful for enclosed or rarely attended installations. The same family is also available with a manual drain or the differential-pressure drain (the catalogue default), so you can match the drain to how the installation is serviced.
