The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, 5 um, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration carries a G3/8 (BSPP) port, a 5 um filter element for finer filtration than the standard 40 um grade, and an automatic drain that discharges collected condensate from the polycarbonate bowl without manual attention. The standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) with a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and a round gauge scaled in psi is fitted so the set pressure can be read directly. A reverse/check valve is built in, and the unit operates in a non-freezing -5 to 70 C environment.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 inch, and is available with manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um elements, square (embedded) or round (external) gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |

| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use filtration and regulation for a CNC machining center's pneumatic clamps, tool-change cylinders and air-blast nozzles, with the 5 um element guarding fine valve spools and the psi gauge letting setters verify clamp pressure at the machine.
Filtered, regulated air for carton-sealing cylinders, diverters and vacuum generators on a packaging conveyor, where the automatic drain clears condensate from the bowl during continuous multi-shift running without an operator stopping to bleed it.
Air preparation ahead of spray guns and air-assisted applicators in a paint finishing booth, where 5 um filtration helps keep water and particulate out of the finish and the regulator holds a steady gun pressure across the shift.
Choose the size and port step against the air demand of the circuit: this GFR400 unit takes a 3/8 inch port, and stepping up or down through sizes 200 to 600 changes both the port and the flow capacity. Drain type is a real operating choice: automatic drain suits unattended duty, manual drain suits supervised installations, and the differential-pressure default drains only when the pressure differential calls for it. The filter grade is selectable: 40 um is the standard element, while the 5 um (W) element fitted here protects more sensitive downstream equipment. Gauge options are the embedded square gauge or the external round gauge, in MPa, psi or bar scales, and the thread can be ordered as PT (standard), G or NPT. A mounting bracket can be included or omitted. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no one rated flow number we can quote. Send us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet curves on request before you order.
This GFR400-10 is fitted with an automatic drain, which discharges condensate from the bowl without operator attention - useful for unattended or multi-shift installations. The GFR family is also available with a manual drain or the differential-pressure default, and the filter grade can be ordered as the standard 40 um element or this finer 5 um (W) element.
