GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, 5 um, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, 5 um, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, 5 um, Manual Drain

The GFR400-10 is an AirTAC GFR-series filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus pressure regulation combined in one body. This 400-size unit is supplied with a G3/8 (BSPP) port, a manual-drain bowl in polycarbonate, a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two catalogue grades), a standard regulator adjustable from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), an embedded square gauge scaled in psi, and a mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.

It is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, and with a choice of drain type (differential-pressure, automatic or manual), 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge scale, thread (PT standard; G and NPT as order options) and bracket. Rated flow is published only as curves rather than a single figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, 5 um, Manual Drain

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
(blank)Mounting bracket included.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
WFiltering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
GG (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, 5 um, Manual Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

CNC machining cell

Point-of-use filtered and regulated air for tool clamping, chip-blowing and pallet-clamp cylinders on a machining centre, with the 5 um element protecting precision valves from water and condensate carryover.

conveyor_belt

Packaging and cartoning line

Regulated supply to sealing jaws, vacuum generators and pusher cylinders on a cartoning or case-packing line, where stable pressure keeps cycles consistent and the manual drain suits a supervised shift pattern.

factory

Automotive assembly station

Filtered, regulated air for air-driven nutrunners, clamps and pick-and-place actuators at an automotive assembly station, with the square psi gauge giving operators a local setpoint reference.

Is the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, 5 um, Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Choose the size and port against the air your line actually uses: 200, 300, 400 and 600 step up in port and flow capacity, and this unit sits at 400 with a G3/8 port. Pick the drain to match maintenance: manual (as here) needs someone to open the drain, automatic drains on its own, and differential-pressure drains only when the pressure drop justifies it. Filtration is 40 um standard or 5 um (this unit, code W) where downstream valves and actuators want cleaner air. Gauges are embedded square as standard with MPa, psi or bar scales, and an external round gauge is optional. Thread is PT as the catalogue standard with G (BSPP) and NPT as order options; a bracket is included. Because rated flow is published as curves rather than a single number, send us your application and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, 5 um, Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes GFR flow as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow number. Send us your application details and we will confirm the flow curve and sizing from the datasheet on request.

This unit is code M: the bowl drains only when someone opens the drain valve. Manual drain suits supervised installations with a daily blow-down routine; choose automatic or differential-pressure drain codes for unattended lines. The 5 um element (code W) is the optional finer grade over the 40 um standard.
