The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, 5 um, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body, so one unit covers both air-preparation jobs at the point of use. This size 400 configuration has a G3/8 (BSPP) port, a 5 um filter element for finer filtration than the standard 40 um grade, a manual drain for controlled bowl purging, and a round pressure gauge reading in psi. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the regulator adjusts from 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The bowl on this size is polycarbonate (PC), and the unit is configured without a mounting bracket.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 covering ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, with manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um standard or 5 um (W) filtration, embedded square or external round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow for the series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On a stamping or forming cell, the GFR400-10 conditions the air feeding clamp cylinders: the 5 um element keeps water and fine particles out of the cylinder seals while the regulator holds a repeatable clamp pressure set from the psi gauge.
Feeding heat-seal or carton-closing cylinders on a packaging line, the unit filters incoming shop air and lets technicians dial in and hold the working pressure the seal cycle was set up at, with the manual drain purged during routine line checks.
Ahead of the torch circuit on a plasma cutting table, the unit removes moisture and particulate from shop air and regulates torch supply pressure; the 5 um grade suits the cleaner air the process expects at the consumables.
Choose the size by port and demand: size 400 carries a 3/8 in port, and the step up or down through the range (sizes 200 to 600, ports 1/8 in to 1 in) follows the air your line consumes - we can check the published flow curves against your requirement. Drain type is a real choice: manual (this model) gives controlled purging by an operator, automatic drains continuously, and the differential-pressure default drains on a pressure drop. Filter grade is 40 um standard or 5 um with the W code, fitted here. Gauges are embedded square as standard or external round, scaled in MPa, psi or bar; this unit carries a round psi gauge. Thread is PT as the standard, with G and NPT as order options - this model is G (BSPP). Brackets are optional and this configuration omits one. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes G-series flow as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your inlet pressure, set pressure and expected air demand, and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request.
This unit has a manual drain: an operator opens it to purge collected water from the bowl. Choose manual where the unit is easily reached and checked during routine maintenance. Where the bowl sits in a hard-to-access spot or you want draining without attention, the automatic or differential-pressure drain options are available in the same series. The manual-drain version also carries the widest 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) regulation range.
