The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This size 400 unit has a 3/8 in NPT port, a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two catalogue grades), a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, and a round pressure gauge with a bar scale. The standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi). Operating temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. No mounting bracket is fitted on this configuration.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of 40 um standard or 5 um (W) filtration, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, embedded square or optional external round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT (standard), G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Installed at the drop feeding a machining centre's pneumatic circuits, this unit filters machining-air moisture and particles down to 5 um and holds a steady regulated pressure to the tool-changer and clamping valves, with the bar gauge giving the operator a direct reading.
Mounted on the air drop serving a carton-forming and sealing conveyor, it cleans the supply feeding the pick-and-place and sealing cylinders and regulates it to the pressure the line was set up for, with the manual drain emptied during scheduled changeovers.
Placed ahead of lab automation and analytical instruments that require clean, stable air, the 5 um element and regulation in one body protect sensitive pneumatic controls, and the bar-scaled gauge lets staff verify supply pressure at a glance.
Size 400 with a 3/8 in NPT port suits lines where the required air flow points to the larger end of the GFR range; step up or down through sizes 200 to 600 as your flow demand changes. The 5 um element (code W) is the right choice when downstream valves, cylinders or instruments are sensitive to finer particles than the 40 um standard grade removes. The manual drain (code M) means someone drains the bowl on a routine basis - choose the automatic or differential-pressure drain option instead if the unit sits where regular manual draining is impractical. This configuration carries a round gauge with a bar scale; square embedded gauges and MPa or psi scales are catalogue alternatives, and PT is the standard thread with G and NPT as order options.
Because flow is published as curves and not as a single rated figure, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering - we will check the datasheet with you.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the relevant flow data from the datasheet on request before you order.
The M in GFR40010MJC3WT is the manual drain code: condensate collected in the polycarbonate bowl is released by hand at intervals. The catalogue also offers an automatic drain (code A) and a differential-pressure drain (the default, blank code) if you would rather not rely on routine manual draining.
