The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT 3/8 in, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure at your setpoint in a single body. This configuration is the 400 size with a 3/8 in NPT port, the finer 5 um filter element, a manual drain on the polycarbonate bowl, a round pressure gauge reading in bar, and a built-in reverse (check) valve. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the regulator adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 in, and with choices of drain type, filter grade, gauge style and scale, thread (PT standard, with G and NPT as order options), bracket and reverse valve. Flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding spray guns and coating stations on a finishing line: the 5 um element takes water and fine particulate out of the supply before it reaches the gun, while the regulator holds a steady setpoint so the operator does not chase pressure drift between panels.
Supplying clamps, grippers and small press cylinders on a machine frame: the regulator sets the working pressure the tooling was designed around, and the check valve holds the downstream side if the upstream supply dips.
Feeding diverters, pushers and stopper cylinders along a packaging or conveyor line: clean, regulated air keeps the actuators consistent through the shift, and the manual drain lets maintenance bleed accumulated water during scheduled rounds.
Size and port set the air capacity: step up from 200 through 400 to 600 as your flow demand grows, and this unit is size 400 with a 3/8 in NPT port. Drain choice depends on access: automatic and differential-pressure drains suit unattended installations, while this unit's manual drain needs someone to bleed the bowl periodically. Filter grade is 40 um standard or 5 um for finer protection of downstream equipment - this unit carries the 5 um element. Gauge options are an embedded square gauge or an external round gauge, with MPa, psi or bar scales; this unit has a round gauge in bar. Thread is PT as standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT available as order options. Brackets are optional on the GFR series. Because flow is published as curves and not a single rating, please ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
We do not quote a single rated flow number, because AirTAC publishes G-series flow as performance curves rather than one rated figure. Send us your application details - line pressure and the equipment you are feeding - and we will confirm the datasheet curves and check the sizing with you before you order.
The manual drain means someone opens the drain to bleed collected water from the bowl, so it suits installations that are visited regularly as part of maintenance rounds. If the unit will sit unattended, an automatic drain or the default differential-pressure drain is the better choice - both are available in the same GFR400 size.
