The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR400-10 is an AirTAC GFR-series filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus downstream pressure regulation combined in a single size-400 body with a 3/8 in NPT port. This configuration carries a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two catalogue grades), a manual drain on the PC (polycarbonate) bowl that you open by hand to expel collected condensate, and no gauge fitted - a suitably scaled gauge can be added at the regulator if required. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the standard regulator adjustment range with manual drain is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). No mounting bracket is included with this code.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge and thread options, and bracket choices. Flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Installed at the air drop feeding a CNC machining centre's pneumatic tool-changer and clamping circuits: the 5 um element strips water and fine particulate before they reach directional valves and cylinders, while the regulator holds a steady supply pressure to the machine's actuator circuits.
Mounted on the air supply to a spray booth or finishing line, where clean, dry, pressure-stable air is part of the coating job: the filter stage catches condensate and fine dirt ahead of the gun supply, and the regulator lets the operator set the line pressure for consistent atomisation.
Fitted on the branch feeding the pneumatic cylinders and grippers on a packaging or cartoning conveyor line: filtered, regulated air keeps the pick-and-place and sealing motions repeatable through the shift, with the manual drain emptied during scheduled line checks.
Start with the port step: this unit is size 400 with a 3/8 in NPT port, one step up from the 1/4 in size-300 frame - match the frame to the air demand of the circuit, since larger sizes carry larger ports and more flow. Drain choice matters: manual drain (this code) means an operator drains the bowl by hand, while automatic and differential-pressure drains discharge condensate without attention; choose manual where visits to the unit are already part of the routine. This code takes the 5 um element (code W) rather than the 40 um standard, the right call where finer particulate protection downstream is wanted. No gauge is fitted; gauges can be specified with MPa, psi or bar scales. Thread is NPT here; PT is the catalogue standard and G (BSPP) is also an order option. Brackets are optional - this code omits one.
One honest note on sizing: AirTAC publishes flow for this series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a flow figure here. Send us your application details and we will confirm the datasheet figures and check the size against your demand before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a flow number for this unit. Tell us your application and air demand and we will confirm the datasheet figures and check that the size-400, 3/8 in frame is correctly sized before you order.
The M in the code selects the manual drain: condensate collected in the PC bowl is released by opening the drain by hand, instead of discharging automatically as with the automatic or differential-pressure drain options. It suits installations that are already visited regularly; if the unit sits unattended, ask us about the automatic-drain version of the same filter regulator.
