The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is fitted with a 5 um element (the finer of the two catalogue grades), a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a built-in reverse/check valve, NPT 3/8 in ports, and no gauge or mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). With manual drainage, the regulation range is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is offered in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of port sizes, PT (standard), G or NPT threads, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge options and bracket choices. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use conditioning at a CNC machining centre: the 5 um element strips water and swarf-laden condensate before the machine's air-operated tool changers and clamps, while the regulator holds a steady set pressure for consistent clamping action.
Feeding cylinders and air-operated sealers on a packaging or cartoning line: the filter-regulator keeps water and fine dirt out of the actuators and holds the pressure the line was set up with, and the built-in check valve holds the downstream circuit if upstream supply dips.
Conditioning the air feed to spray guns and air-driven pumps in a paint or finishing booth: the 5 um grade helps keep moisture and particles out of the air reaching the gun, and the regulator lets the operator set and hold the atomising pressure the finish requires.
Size 400 with 3/8 in ports sits in the upper-middle of the GFR range; step up to size 600 or down to 300/200 according to the flow your line needs - we will confirm the published curve against your demand. Drain choice matters: this unit has a manual drain, which also gives the widest 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) regulation range; automatic and differential-pressure drains suit unattended installations. The 5 um element here is the finer option versus the 40 um standard - choose it where downstream valves and cylinders need cleaner air. No gauge is fitted; a square (embedded) or round external gauge with MPa, psi or bar scale can be specified. Threads come as PT (standard), G or NPT - this unit is NPT. Bracket is not included (code J) but is available. Because flow is published as curves, not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a l/min, SCFM or Cv number. Tell us your line demand and we will confirm the curve and correct sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
This configuration uses a manual drain: condensate is released by hand, which suits attended installations with regular walk-rounds. It also gives the widest regulation range, 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). If the unit will sit unattended, ask about the automatic or differential-pressure drain versions, which remove condensate without operator action.
