GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um

The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um

The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is the size 400 unit with 3/8 in NPT ports, a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two grades), an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, and a fitted square pressure gauge reading in psi. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the standard regulation range is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl suits this size, and a mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of 40 um or 5 um filtration, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, gauge scale options, and PT (standard), G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
ADrain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
(blank)Mounting bracket included.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
WFiltering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um Is Used

precision_manufacturing

CNC machining centre air supply

Point-of-use conditioning ahead of the machine's pneumatic valve stack: the 5 um element protects directional valves from particulate and water while the regulator holds a steady set pressure for clamping and tool-change circuits.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line conveyor actuation

Conditioning the air feeding conveyor stopper cylinders and diverters on a bottling or cartoning line, with the automatic drain keeping condensate out of the circuit during continuous shifts.

factory

Textile weaving shed ring main

Dropping filtered, regulated air off a plant ring main to individual looms and air-jet nozzles, where the 3/8 in NPT connection and 5 um grade suit sensitive jet and sensor equipment.

Is the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um the Right Unit?

Step up or down through the GFR sizes (200/300/400/600) to match the port size and flow demand of your air-preparation point; this size 400 unit carries 3/8 in NPT ports. Choose the drain to suit access: automatic (as here) where the unit is hard to reach, manual where an operator attends the line, or the default differential-pressure type. Choose 40 um for general protection or 5 um where downstream valves and cylinders need finer filtration. Gauge scale (MPa, psi or bar), thread family (PT standard, G or NPT to order) and the included bracket complete the decodable choices.

Because AirTAC publishes flow as curves rather than a single rated number, we do not quote a flow figure here. Send us your application details and we will confirm the datasheet and correct sizing before you order.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the datasheet flow curves and check the sizing against your demand before you order.

The A in the code GFR40010AF2WT selects the automatic drain, which ejects collected condensate on its own - useful where the unit is mounted out of easy reach. The W selects the 5 um filter element instead of the 40 um standard grade, for finer protection of downstream valves and cylinders.
