The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds a stable downstream pressure in one body. This configuration has 3/8 in NPT ports, a 5 um filter element (code W, one step finer than the 40 um standard), an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, and a standard regulator adjustable from 0.15 to 0.9 MPa (20-130 psi). A reverse/check valve is fitted, and this variant comes without a gauge and without a mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing); the polycarbonate bowl suits the 200/300/400 sizes, with aluminium alloy reserved for size 600.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and is ordered with a choice of drain type (differential-pressure, automatic or manual), filter grade (40 um standard, 5 um optional), thread (PT standard, with G and NPT as order options), gauge and bracket. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, regulated air to pneumatic workholding clamps on a machining centre, where the 5 um element protects the clamp valves and the regulator holds a consistent clamping pressure shift to shift.
Supplies treated air to diverter gates and carton-sealing cylinders on a packaging conveyor, with the automatic drain clearing condensate on a line that runs unattended through the shift.
Conditions the air feeding rinse and fill valve actuators on a bottling line, keeping water and particles out of the valve bank while the check valve holds the circuit if plant supply pressure dips.
Start with the port step: size 400 with 3/8 in NPT ports sits in the middle of the GFR range, so step up to size 600 or down to 300 depending on the air demand of the circuit - we will confirm sizing against the published flow curves on request. The 5 um element in this unit is the finer of the two grades (40 um is the standard); choose 5 um where downstream valves and cylinders need cleaner air. The automatic drain suits unattended or hard-to-reach installations; differential-pressure and manual drains are available if you prefer condensate removal tied to pressure drop or a scheduled check. A gauge is not fitted on this variant - gauge and scale options exist across the series if you want a visible setting. NPT is the thread on this unit; PT is the series standard and G is also available to order. Brackets are optional (this variant has none), and the fitted reverse/check valve holds downstream pressure if the supply drops.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes G-series flow as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your inlet pressure, set pressure and the air demand of your circuit, and we will confirm the flow and sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
The A in the code GFR40010AJNWTK specifies an automatic drain, which ejects collected condensate on its own - useful where the unit is mounted in a cramped or infrequently visited spot. Differential-pressure (the series default) and manual drains are also available in the GFR400 family; note that with an automatic or differential-pressure drain the regulation range is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), while the manual-drain variants extend down to 0.05 MPa.
