The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a size 400 filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in one body. This configuration carries a 5 um filter element (code W), a differential-pressure drain that bleeds collected condensate automatically as flow passes through, a low-pressure regulator type, an embedded square gauge scaled in bar, and a reverse/check valve fitted. The port is NPT 3/8 in and no mounting bracket is included (code J).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, filter grades of 40 um standard or 5 um optional, drain choices, gauge scales in MPa, psi or bar, and PT, G or NPT threads. Published flow data appears as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet and sizing figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

A filter regulator sits ahead of clamping cylinders on a machining-centre fixture, cleaning the shop air and holding a steady low clamp pressure so workpieces are held consistently through the cycle.
On a carton erecting and sealing line, this unit conditions the air feeding the fold and press actuators, protecting them from water and grit while keeping their operating pressure set where the machine was commissioned.
In a bench assembly cell, the unit feeds hand tools and pick-and-place grippers from a single drop, with the 5 um element guarding the finer valve surfaces and the gauge letting the setter verify the regulated pressure at a glance.
Size 400 with a 3/8 in port suits lines whose air consumption sits in the mid range of the GFR family; step up to size 600 or down to 300 depending on the flow curve for your duty. The 5 um element (code W) is the finer of the two published grades and is the choice where downstream valves and cylinders see finer contamination; the 40 um standard element remains available in other configurations. The differential-pressure drain needs no operator attention, while automatic and manual drains are offered elsewhere in the family. The square gauge here is scaled in bar; MPa and psi scales and an external round gauge are alternatives. Thread is NPT on this unit, with PT standard and G also orderable. Note the low-pressure regulator type: its exact adjustment range is not published in the material we hold, so ask us to confirm it against your setpoint before ordering. Because flow is published only as curves, ask us to confirm sizing against the application before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM figure. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow data from the datasheet on request so you can size the unit correctly.
This is the low-pressure regulator type (code L), and the exact adjustment range for that variant is not published in the material we hold, so we confirm it on request rather than guess. For drainage, this configuration uses a differential-pressure drain: collected condensate is discharged automatically as air flows through, with no operator action needed.
