The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator in the size-400 GFR series: one body that first removes water and particulate from compressed air, then regulates downstream pressure. This configuration is built for a low-pressure circuit, with a 3/8 in NPT port, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a 40 um standard filter element, an embedded square MPa gauge, and a reverse/check valve fitted. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um (code W) filter option, gauge scale choices and G/NPT thread options. We confirm flow and datasheet figures on request - flow is published as curves, not a single rating.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On a CNC machining cell with air-actuated clamps, the GFR400-10 cleans the shop air of water and swarf-carrying condensate and holds the low clamp pressure the fixture designer specified, with the check valve helping hold the set pressure if the supply dips.
On a bagger or carton sealer, the filtered-and-regulated air feed keeps water and particulate out of the sealing-jaw cylinders while the low-pressure regulator sets the gentle pressure those jaws need, and the square gauge lets the operator see the setting at a glance.
At an air-knife blow-off point on a bottling or canning conveyor, the 40 um filter stops scale and moisture reaching the nozzles while the low-pressure regulator sets the soft, stable pressure the product surface requires, with manual drain checks built into the shift routine.
Size 400 with a 3/8 in NPT port sits in the upper-middle of the GFR range; step up to size 600 or down to 300 depending on the pipe size and flow your circuit carries. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering. This unit is the low-pressure type, so tell us your working pressure and we will verify it against the datasheet. The manual drain means an operator opens the bowl drain during checks - if you prefer hands-off water removal, ask about the automatic or differential-pressure drain versions of the same size. The 40 um element is the standard grade; a 5 um element (code W) is available if your downstream equipment needs finer filtration. The fitted square gauge reads in MPa; psi and bar scales and an external round gauge are options. NPT is the thread on this code; G (BSPP) and PT are catalogue alternatives, and the J code means no mounting bracket is included.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a l/min or SCFM figure. Send us your application details and we will confirm the flow and sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
The M in the code GFR40010MLJF1TK specifies a manual drain: an operator opens the bowl drain to expel collected water during routine checks. The same GFR400 size is also available with an automatic drain (code A) or a differential-pressure drain (blank) if you want water removal without manual attention - just ask for that variant.
