The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8, Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is built for a 3/8 in NPT port, uses the standard 40 um filter element, and carries an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention. It is the low-pressure type, fitted with an external round pressure gauge scaled in MPa, and includes a reverse (check) valve. The polycarbonate bowl lets you see fluid level and drainage at a glance. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of automatic, manual or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um element option (code W), square or round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and G (BSPP) or NPT threads as order options. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds clean, regulated air to the cylinder and valve manifold bank on a carton-forming or wrapping line, with the automatic drain handling condensate during continuous shifts.
Supplies filtered air at a stable, reduced pressure to clamp cylinders on a milling or drilling fixture, where the low-pressure type regulation suits circuits set well below full line pressure.
Conditions air for the pop-up diverters, stoppers and pusher cylinders along a sorting conveyor, keeping water and scale out of the directional valves that index each package.
Start with the port step: this unit is size 400 with a 3/8 in NPT port; step up to size 600 (1/2 in to 1 in) or down to size 300 if your line needs a different flow path. Because flow is published as curves, not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your air consumption before ordering. Drain choice matters: automatic drain (this unit) suits unattended duty; manual drain suits supervised points; the differential-pressure default drains on a pressure drop. The standard element is 40 um; specify W for the 5 um grade if downstream valves or instruments need finer filtration. This is the low-pressure type - confirm its exact regulation range with us, since it is not published in the standard table. The round gauge on this unit reads in MPa; psi and bar scales are available, and the embedded square gauge is the standard alternative. G (BSPP) and NPT threads are order options alongside the PT standard, and a mounting bracket can be added where this no-bracket version does not suit your frame.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for this series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Tell us your line pressure and air consumption and we will confirm the datasheet curve figures for the GFR400-10 against your application before you order.
The automatic drain expels collected condensate from the polycarbonate bowl on its own, so the unit can run unattended; manual and differential-pressure drains are the other catalogue choices. The L in the code marks the low-pressure regulator type, intended for circuits regulated well below full line pressure - its exact regulation range is not published in the standard table, so ask us to confirm it for your setpoint.
