GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT 3/8 Low Pressure

The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT 3/8 Low Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT 3/8 Low Pressure

The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This size 400 unit has a 3/8 in NPT port, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a 40 um standard filter element, and a round pressure gauge reading in bar. It is the low-pressure type, and the mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 in, a choice of manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um (W) filtration, square or round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, G, NPT or PT threads, and a reverse/check valve option. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm figures from the datasheet for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT 3/8 Low Pressure

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
LLow-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
(blank)Mounting bracket included.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
3Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT 3/8 Low Pressure Is Used

factory

Carton sealing station on a packaging line

Feeds the pneumatic cylinders and clamp actuators on a carton sealer, giving the station one body that cleans the air and holds a steady, low set pressure for consistent case closing.

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic press fixture in a fabrication cell

Supplies filtered, regulated air to a light-duty pneumatic press fixture where the operator drains the bowl during shift checks and reads the set pressure locally on the bar gauge.

conveyor_belt

Divert and stop gates on a conveyor run

Prepares the air feeding divert gates and stop gates on a conveyor line, protecting the gate cylinders from water and scale while keeping supply pressure steady across the shift.

Is the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT 3/8 Low Pressure the Right Unit?

Size 400 with a 3/8 in NPT port suits lines whose flow demand sits in the upper mid-range; step up to size 600 or down to 300 depending on the flow curve for your circuit. The manual drain here means an operator opens the bowl drain periodically - choose automatic or differential-pressure drain if the unit is mounted where regular access is difficult. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify W for 5 um where finer particulate removal is needed. The round gauge reads in bar; square embedded gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales are also available. NPT is the thread on this unit; G (BSPP) and PT are order options, and a bracket is included.

Flow for this family is published as curves, not a single rated figure, so send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT 3/8 Low Pressure FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no one rated flow number we can quote. Send us your application details and we will confirm the relevant flow figures from the datasheet before you order.

M is the manual drain: an operator opens the bowl drain to release collected water. It suits units mounted within easy reach on a maintained line. If the unit will sit where regular access is difficult, ask about the automatic (A) or differential-pressure (blank) drain versions of the same size.
