The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a size-400 filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is a 3/8 in NPT port unit with the fine 5 um filter element (code W), a manual drain on the PC bowl, an embedded square gauge scaled in MPa, and a built-in reverse/check valve (code K) that holds downstream pressure if the upstream supply is lost. The standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), with a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and an operating temperature of -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. No mounting bracket is fitted on this version (code J).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of 40 um standard or 5 um fine filtration, manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, square or round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, PT (standard), G or NPT threads, and optional check valves. Flow figures are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, regulated air to the tool-change cylinders and clamping fixtures on a CNC machining centre, with the 5 um element protecting precision valves from particles and the check valve holding clamp pressure during an air drop.
Serves as the point-of-use filter regulator on a cartoning or case-packing conveyor, giving the pneumatic diverters and pusher cylinders clean air at a set pressure, with the MPa gauge letting operators verify the setting at a glance.
Regulates supply pressure to the gripper and clamp valve manifold of a robotic weld cell, where the 5 um grade guards the manifold's solenoid valves and the reverse/check valve maintains circuit pressure if the plant air dips.
Size the GFR400 by port and expected flow: size 400 with a 3/8 in port sits mid-range in the family, one step above the 300 series - step up or down if your line flow demands it, and we will confirm the flow curves against your application before you order. This unit has a manual drain, so someone must bleed the bowl periodically; if the installation is unmanned or hard to reach, choose the automatic or differential-pressure drain version instead. The 5 um element (code W) suits air tools, valves and instruments that need finer filtration than the 40 um standard element. The embedded square gauge reads in MPa; psi or bar scales and an external round gauge are orderable options. Thread is NPT here - PT is the catalogue standard and G (BSPP) is also available. Brackets are optional on GFR; this code omits one.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes G-series flow as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a l/min, m3/h or SCFM figure. Send us your application details and we will confirm the datasheet flow curves for the GFR400 at 3/8 in against your required flow before you order.
The M in the code specifies a manual drain: condensate collected in the PC bowl must be bled off by hand. That is simple and reliable for attended installations. If the unit will sit in an inaccessible spot or on an unmanned line, order the automatic (code A) or differential-pressure (blank) drain version instead - the regulation range also differs slightly, with the manual-drain version adjustable down to 0.05 MPa (7 psi).
