The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 5um Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration carries a 3/8 in NPT port, a 5 um filter element (code W, finer than the 40 um standard), an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without operator attention, a round external pressure gauge scaled in MPa, and no mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the standard regulator adjusts from 0.15 to 0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl suits this size; only the 600 size uses an aluminium alloy bowl.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, 40 um or 5 um filtration, standard or low-pressure regulation, square or round gauges scaled in MPa, psi or bar, an optional reverse/check valve, and PT (standard), G or NPT threads. Flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application before you order.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |

| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use conditioning ahead of a CNC machine tool's pneumatic circuits: the 5 um element protects solenoid valves from fine particulate and water carryover while the regulator holds a steady set pressure for clamping and tool-change actuators.
Feeding diverters, stoppers and pusher cylinders on a packaging conveyor: clean, regulated air keeps the divert sequence repeatable through the shift, and the automatic drain handles condensate on lines that run unattended.
Conditioning the supply to a pick-and-place robot's valve manifold: the 5 um grade and stable regulated pressure suit sensitive directional valves and vacuum-ejector circuits, with the MPa gauge giving operators a visible setpoint.
Size and port set the capacity: the 400 size with a 3/8 in port sits mid-range in the GFR line, one step above the 300 and below the 600. Because flow is published as curves and not a single rated figure, tell us your demand and we will confirm sizing against the curve before you order. Drain type is a real choice here: automatic (this unit) drains unattended, manual requires an operator, and the differential-pressure default dumps only when the pressure drop warrants it. Filtration is 5 um on this unit versus the 40 um standard - choose 5 um where downstream valves and cylinders need finer protection. The round gauge on this unit reads MPa; square embedded gauges and psi or bar scales are also available. Thread is NPT on this unit; PT is the catalogue standard and G is offered as an option. Brackets are optional - this configuration ships without one.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Tell us your line pressure, set pressure and air demand, and we will confirm the flow from the datasheet curve for your application before you order.
The automatic drain expels collected condensate on its own, which suits installations that run unattended; the alternatives are the differential-pressure default and a manual drain. The 5 um element (code W) filters more finely than the 40 um standard, giving better protection for downstream valves and cylinders where clean, dry-regulated air matters.
