The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 5um Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure steady. This 400-size unit carries a 3/8 in NPT port, a 5 um filter element (the finer option versus the standard 40 um), an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, a round external gauge scaled in MPa, and a reverse/check valve fitted. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the regulator adjusts from 0.15 to 0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl suits the 400 size; only the 600 size uses an aluminium alloy bowl.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and options for drain type, filter grade, gauge style and scale, thread (PT standard, G and NPT to order), bracket and check valve. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding a workshop air press with clean, regulated air: the 5 um element strips water and fine particulate before the regulator holds a steady working pressure at the press cylinder.
On a packaging line where conveyor diverters and clamp cylinders run continuously, the automatic drain removes condensate without daily bowl attention and the check valve holds the downstream circuit if supply dips.
At a laboratory bench drop serving air-driven instruments, the 5 um grade and stable regulated output protect sensitive pneumatic controls, with the MPa gauge giving a clear local pressure readout.
Step up or down through sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 to match the port and flow path your line needs; this 400 unit sits at the 3/8 in NPT step. Choose the 5 um element (this code, W) when downstream equipment tolerates less particulate, or the standard 40 um where coarser filtration is acceptable. Automatic drain (this code) suits unattended installations; manual or differential-pressure drains are the alternatives. Gauge style is embedded square as standard with an external round gauge optional, in MPa, psi or bar scales - this unit carries the round MPa gauge. Thread is PT as the catalogue standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT as orderable options; this code is NPT. A bracket can be added; this configuration omits it.
Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, we do not quote a rated flow number. Send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow number, Cv or SCFM. Send us your application details and we will confirm the relevant datasheet figures for this 3/8 in, 400-size unit before you order.
The W code fits the 5 um element instead of the standard 40 um, so finer particulate and more carryover are removed before air reaches downstream equipment - useful for valves and instruments. The A code adds an automatic drain, which expels collected condensate on its own instead of relying on manual bowl draining.
