The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT3/8, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 combines water and particulate filtration with pressure regulation in a single body, sized in the GFR400 series with a 3/8 in NPT port. This configuration carries an automatic drain, so condensed water is expelled from the PC bowl without manual attention, a 40 um standard filter element, and a round pressure gauge reading in MPa so the set pressure is visible at a glance. A reverse (check) valve is fitted, and the unit is supplied without a mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the regulator adjusts from 0.15 to 0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter-regulator family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, PT as the standard thread and G (BSPP) or NPT as order options, a choice of automatic, manual or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um (code W) filtration, and square or round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet and flow figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Clean, regulated air feeding tool-changer clamps and pneumatic actuators on a machining centre, with the automatic drain handling condensate from a long compressed-air run.
Filtering and regulating air to carton-forming and sealing cylinders on a packaging conveyor, where the check valve holds the downstream setting if upstream supply dips.
Conditioning supply to clamping and hold-down cylinders on a fabrication press, with the MPa gauge letting operators verify the regulated set point during changeover.
Start with the size and port: the GFR400 step with its 3/8 in port suits lines where larger 1/4 in units would restrict supply, but the right step ultimately depends on required flow, which is published as curves rather than a single rating - ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering. Drain type is a real choice here: this unit has an automatic drain, which suits unattended or hard-to-reach installations, while manual and differential-pressure drains are available in the family. Filtration is 40 um as standard; specify the W option for 5 um where finer pre-filtration is needed. The fitted round gauge reads in MPa; psi or bar scales and a square gauge are alternatives. Thread is NPT on this unit; PT is the catalogue standard and G (BSPP) is an order option. A mounting bracket can be added if the J (no bracket) supply does not suit your panel.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow and datasheet figures for the GFR400-10 on request before you order.
The A position gives an automatic drain, which expels collected condensate from the PC bowl without manual intervention - useful for installations that are not checked daily. The K in the code means a reverse (check) valve is fitted; units without it are available in the same family.
