The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, PT3/8, 5 um, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure at a set point in a single body. This configuration is the 400 size with a PT3/8 port, a 5 um filter element (code W), an automatic drain that discharges condensate from the PC bowl without operator attention, and the low-pressure regulator type. A round psi gauge is fitted and a reverse/check valve is included; no mounting bracket is supplied.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200 to 600 with port options from 1/8 to 1 inch, drain choices (differential-pressure, automatic, manual), 40 um or 5 um elements, gauge and thread options, and a low-pressure variant. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and working temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. Rated flow is published as curves rather than a single figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds clean, regulated air to the pneumatic cylinders and grippers on a bottling line, with the automatic drain clearing condensate from the bowl during continuous shifts.
Supplies filtered, regulated air to the workpiece-clamping and tool-change cylinders on a CNC machining centre, where the 5 um element helps keep fine particles out of downstream valves.
Regulates supply to the diverters and stop gates along a sorting conveyor, with the reverse/check valve holding the set pressure through brief supply dips.
Choose the size by port and required flow: the 400 size steps up from 300 and carries a 3/8 in PT port as standard here, with G and NPT threads available as order options. Drain type is a real decision: automatic (this unit) empties the PC bowl on its own, manual requires operator action, and the default differential-pressure drain uses the pressure drop across the element. The element is 5 um here; 40 um is the standard grade when finer filtration is not needed. The gauge scale is psi on the round gauge (MPa and bar scales are available), and the fitted reverse/check valve holds downstream pressure through brief supply interruptions. No bracket is fitted; brackets are optional. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the datasheet curve and correct sizing before you order.
The 40 um element is the standard grade for general water and particulate removal. The 5 um element fitted to this unit (code W) is the catalogue option for applications where finer particles must be kept out of downstream valves and cylinders.
