The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator PT3/8 5um Square Gauge is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single body, so one 3/8 in (PT3/8) unit does both jobs in the air-preparation line. This configuration carries the W-grade 5 um filter element (finer than the standard 40 um), a differential-pressure drain that bleeds collected condensate automatically as flow passes through, an embedded square pressure gauge reading in psi, and a polycarbonate bowl. It is supplied without a mounting bracket.
This is a genuine AirTAC part in the GFR400 size class. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, thread types (PT standard, with G and NPT as order options), drain types, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge styles and scales, and bracket or no-bracket mounting. Rated flow is published as curves rather than a single figure, so ask us to confirm flow and datasheet details for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding filtered, regulated air to the tool-change and clamping circuits of a CNC machining centre, where the 5 um element keeps fine contamination out of pilot valves and the psi gauge gives operators a readable setpoint.
Conditioning the air feeding a packaging machine's valve island and actuator bank: the filter-regulator cleans the supply and holds a stable working pressure in one 3/8 in drop, with the differential-pressure drain handling condensate during continuous runs.
Supplying a pneumatic clamping circuit on an assembly press, where the regulator sets the clamping force via line pressure and the square psi gauge lets the setter verify the setting against the process specification.
Size and port go together: the 400 size with its PT3/8 port suits lines fed at 3/8 in, and the next step up or down (300 or 600) moves you to smaller or larger ports and flow capacity - match the step to the air demand of the circuit. Choose the drain: differential-pressure (this unit) needs no attention during operation, automatic drains on a timer-free basis, and manual drain suits intermittent-duty installations where someone bleeds the bowl regularly. Choose the filter grade: 40 um is the standard element for general air prep, while the 5 um W grade on this unit protects downstream valves, cylinders and instruments from finer contamination. Gauge scale (MPa, psi or bar - psi here) and thread (PT standard, G or NPT to order) are selected at ordering, as is the bracket.
Because rated flow is published only as curves and not as a single number, we cannot quote one here - send us your application's air demand and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your application's air demand and line conditions and we will confirm the flow and full datasheet figures for you before you order.
The W suffix in GFR40010JF2W selects the optional 5 um element in place of the standard 40 um grade. The finer element suits circuits with sensitive pilot valves, instruments or air bearings downstream; if your application only needs general water and particulate removal, the standard 40 um grade is the usual choice.
